Our Wheatens
Ginger
Ginger is our first Wheaten. We love Ginger very much--so much that we decided to keep one of her puppies (Bailey). Ginger, like all Wheatens, has a sweet personality. She is very fun to have around to play with or to give rubbings to. She's a great family dog: good with kids, doesn't bark much (and even then, it is low-pitched so it's not annoying), and will seek the company of others. She does tend to be somewhat mischievous, and sometimes a bit stubborn (like resisting coming back inside--or just coming in slowly). It's the sort of thing that makes us say "Ginger!", and then laugh about it later. The interesting thing is that she know's when she's done something against the rules, and will usually go to her crate. She has had a litter of 6 and a litter of 7.

Bailey is the younger of our two Wheatens. She is actually the daughter of Ginger. Bailey is the more calm and friendly of the two. We attribute this to the fact that she was raised in our home, like all our puppies are. Bailey enjoys munching ice cubes for a treat, licking people (she can tell if someone's hurt or sad), bothering her mother and otherwise playing with her, getting peoples attention, and wagging her tail just from hearing "Bailey" and other exciting words. Bailey also tends to be more timid and submissive than Ginger, but is also more curious. Both our dogs love going on car rides and going new places. We often bring them along for vacation, and they ride in our van like esteemed passengers. She has had a litter of 3 (in 2006) and a litter of 4 (in 2007).
